i am writing an answer fr 5 marks u can then use according to the need

• when mahatma gandhi came in india he wrote a book named HIND SWARAJ .

•in this book he mentioned that britishers were able to rule us only because we cooperated. if we had denied to do so then we would have been a free country till then •Gandhiji was a man who believed in non violence . So he used a non violent way to eliminate british rule from india that is SATYAGRAH

•He organised peasants satyagrah , cotton mill workers satyagrah and many other satyagrahas based on various issues in different parts of the country

• When he realised that no social movement would be successful without the unity of hindu and muslim people he launched KHILAFAT MOVEMENT with help of Shaukat ali and Muhammad ali

• He also launched NON COOPERATION MOVEMENT which encouraged people to give up government jobs and positions

•he also launched CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE movement which was similiar to non cooperation movement but it involved breaking laws

•gandhiji broke the salt law by manufacturing salt at dandi and hence warned the british government

•today due to gandhiji's efforts and ideals we r a free , democratic and liberal nation
