Amit Abraham has very wisely said

“Clean your mind and our country will automatically get dry cleaned.” India,

our beloved motherland is in the direst need of cleanliness. The general state

of our cities, towns, colonies, rivers, oceans, lakes, hill-stations, parks,

gardens, public transportation systems, railway stations, public toilets, etc,

all indicate we as a nation are not pro-cleanliness! The nationwide ‘Swachch

Bharat Abhiyan’ is another proof of our vice of apathy to the squalor lying

uncleaned around us!

‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ or ‘Clean India Mission’ is an initiative led by the Government of India to make India a clean India. This campaign was launched officially by the Government of India on 145th birth anniversary of the great person, Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd of October, 2014. It was launched at the Rajghat, New Delhi (the cremation ground of Mahatma Gandhi). The Government of India has aimed to make India a clean India by 2nd of October 2019 (means 150th birth anniversary of the Mahatma Gandhi) through this campaign.But after so many years, Swachh Bharat Mission was again started by the Government of India to make the dream of clean India come true till 150th birth anniversary of the Mahatma Gandhi. It was started in 2014 on 2nd of October on the 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It is a big challenge for all the citizens of India. It is only possible if each and every person living in India would understand this campaign, their own responsibility and try to join hands together to make it a successful mission.
