Explanation:
Hung parliament’ is a phrase that terrifies the stock market. The thinking is that our economy needs strong and decisive leadership, and that a government formed without a single party's majority fails to provide this. A lack of economic direction is the result, accompanied by lower GDP growth. There are too many vested interests inside the Cabinet, and regional parties often have a veto on what can and cannot be done by the leadership. This is the basis of the thinking in favour of a majority government and against coalitions.

Answer:
The need for the coalition politics has arisen in India, because no party including BJP can go to the people alone and win elections. Indian National Congress is the only party which has so far been able to get majority without a coalition. India is home to several languages, several cultural habits persisting in different states. Their thinking too differ.
Since each state differ culturally, the people would like to have a party which propagate their own in the state. Also the language too differ. Their eating habits, their needs, the customs too vary. The caste dominance each state vary. In Bihar Yadavs, Muslims and forward class, in UP it is Muslims, forwrd class, Yadavs, Dalits, OBCs, etc., making each state a unique one. hence each state is having different strong regional parties
After 1991 regional parties dominated the scene in Indian politics, because they were able to project state specific issues effectively and people too appreciated the same because national parties failed to address their grievances. SP and BSP in UP, RJD and JDU in Bihar, TMC in West Bengal, BJD in Odisha, TDP, YSRCP, TRS in AP & Telengana, NC, and PDP in J & K, etc. became important regional parties. Though National Parties too were dominant in some of these states, they had to compete with the regional parties. Because the regional parties became powerful holding certain percentage of votes under their command more because of caste polarisation behind them, national parties have no alternative other than aligning with them to produce majority. Also these regional parties themselves cannot form government at the center on their own. Hence they have to form a coalition to capture power at the center.
Though BJP is a powerful party now, it gains its power partially because of its alliance. If BJP goes solo at the present juncture it may be suicidal. Congress which was in an unassailable position has become too weak now. Without alliance Congress may even lose its existence. Hence coalition has come to stay for some more time in India.
