It is indeed a sad commentary of India's industrial development and economic progress when we realise that a large percentage of our population is deprived of the fruits of our progress. Therefore, we must ensure a more inclusive growth, so that the benefits percolate down to the the lower strata of society.
It is a very heart-wrenching sight to see young and innocent children die due to hunger and malnutrition. We must arrest this phenomenon by ensuring gainful employment for their parents and guardians. We must also monitor the midday meal schemes in schools which these children attend. The economic lot of villagers must be improved by spreading out our industrial base over a wider geographical area. If need be, we must allocate responsibility to NGOs and take their help rather than only depend on the Government machinery.
