When Diwali conveys us so much joy and enjoyment, why not pass it to the needful and the less prosperous people? Let’s celebrate a more rewarding Diwali this year by indulging in some kind act of ‘giving’. You can contribute days and sweets and even fireworks to orphanages and old age homes.

Conclusion:

Introduction:

Diwali is a festival where millions of families across the globe eagerly await the arrival of this 5-day long festival. Going back to mythos, Diwali has a great significance since it marks Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana. Ecstatic at the home-coming of Lord Rama with his wife Sita, the people of Ayodhya celebrated by lighting up their homes with lamps and distributed sweets to each other. From here started the festival of lights known as Diwali or Deepavali. Irrespective of the different sentiments and beliefs attached to Diwali, a communal emotion of immense joy and bliss is what binds people together

Body/Fusion:

Diwali is the start of the new ‘Hindu financial year’ and several traders, businessmen, shopkeepers, open new books of accounts. During Diwali people worship and have special puja at the homes for Goddess Lakshmi, who is known as the goddess of prosperity and wealth. Diwali is also the symbol of spiritual illumination and the victory of righteousness. When Diwali give us much excitement and joy, we should also pass it to the needy and the less fortunate people.

Celebrating a fulfilling Diwali each year by involving in some kind act of ‘giving’ would give us much more happiness than lighting crackers. We could donate sweets and even dresses to old age homes and orphanages. Many stores sell diyas made of clay by inmates of reputed NGOs and who donate the money earned through such sales to the poor and destitute during the festival of Diwali. That way we not only light up your own homes but also we can spread some light into others’ lives too. Moreover, we see today many different kinds of fireworks being sold in the market and such fireworks are evolving constantly. The exposure of these fireworks are not just hazardous to health but also to the air which we breathe in. Loud noise caused by fireworks can lead to immense trauma and panic to animals such as cats and dogs. It is our duty to carry forward traditions sensibly, ensuring that our way of celebrating do not cause trouble/pain to others.  

Conclusion:

With the passing of years, we have gradually wandered away from the real spirit of Diwali. The contemporary Diwali revolves around fireworks and lights. Nevertheless, the message of the festival goes afar that, which is, to be cautious of the evil within and around ourselves and to annihilate it with determination and a strong will. Every Diwali, we must enlighten our hearts with the light which empowers us to pledge to great deeds which in a way make the world around us a better place to live in for all.
