MOM or Mars Orbiter Mission by ISRO was aimed to gather information on Mars. It is also called as Mangalyan, and it was launched from Sriharikota in November 2013. It is first of its kind and based on indigenous technology; it reached the orbit in September 2014. India achieved the objective at very low cost and with the successful launch and demonstration of the technology, India has entered in the selected countries club in space technology.
