                              Respect Tourist, Respect Your Country

Athithi devo bhavah. This Sanskrit saying, meaning a guest is equal to god, was once the tradition of our country. Respecting them was our culture. Yet, somehow down the lane, from god they have now become mere articles to earn money out of. From transportation to shopping, they are sold services and goods for double the money. The widespread news about foreigners being brutally raped makes the situation horrific. What is happening here is that, instead of treating them with hospitality and welcoming them, we are utilizing their unawareness about our country. The impression they take back is not to be doubted. We leave an impression in their minds, about a country where they never want to come back to.
Our country is our home. And any guest coming here should be received with warm welcome. This not only shows the culture we have here but it creates India's image in front of the world.Above all, by treating tourists with respect, we are respecting our country as our home and taking responsibility on behalf of it. After all, how many of us would exploit guests who visit our families.  With every gesture of love and respect we show towards our tourists, they are feeling the same towards our country.
