I agree with you partially. Of course, a sex or a nude scene will influence me somewhat. It will influence me to masturbate, and it ends there. But watching a sex or a nude scene is pleasing to the eyes. It doesn't even disturb me mentally one bit. But a violent scene, it disturbs me a lot. Even when I was a kid, I badly wanted to watch a woman naked and when i did watch, it gave me only enjoyment. Though, I am an adult now, I still feel disturbed to watch someone's hand or head chopped off. Movies with such scenes are given a U certificate.I don't feel the same way when I see a nude scene. Sex and nudity is completely natural that happens in everyday's life. We are not born with clothes. But killing someone gives a negative feelings to people watching it. Just because sex and nudity gives you some feelings and that too positively, is it right that this should be considered more unsuitable than gore and violence?
I have been pondering about that one..
It is a theme, meme which comes up so often...
OK. Example.
you are in the same room as your parents watching TV.
Does seeing a car explode makes you self conscious ? Usually not, unless you have been in that situation yourself.
Watching people having sex..now........it hits very close no ? Nobody wants to imagine people close to them having sex,,,especially not your parents...and your parents imagining you toooooooooo....
For most people : violence is " outside"...meaning not close to your inner core.
Sex is deeply personal..almost everyone above age 12 has had sex,..it touches souls and people feel like,,,,,,,,,,,,huh ???
because you associate and you know that people around start thinking about you and you about them.
my point of view,
Violence not like Halloween,,,,,,,,how many people have or lived it ?
extreme violence like bullying, rape......would sound distasteful to many also.
