If you read just one book a week but fully appreciate and absorb it, you’ll be far better off than someone who skims through half the library without paying much attention.Every time I read a great book I felt I was reading a kind of map, a treasure map, and the treasure I was being directed to was in actual fact myself. But each map was incomplete, and I would only locate the treasure if I read all the books, and so the process of finding my best self was an endless quest. And books themselves seemed to reflect this idea. Which is why the plot of every book ever can be boiled down to ‘someone is looking for something’.”

Reading has been accepted as one of the many ways to unwind and relax one's mind. For me, the calm and quiet that comes from reading one's favorite books can never replace any other feeling. I have always liked reading and staying in a quiet corner, undisturbed and away from the outside world.
For me, the world that the words in the book create entice me more than the real world. The world of the books is an escape from the everyday realities of life, some good, some bad. I can freely create my own world, with free thinking and decisions shaping the world that I want. Books give me the life that I cannot get in real life, thereby saving me from the harsh world. It also gave me the means to learn more and more, in a space and time on my own accord.
