Social media and its effects on Youth

We all live in a technological world where social media is everything. From advertisements to buisness sponsors social media has also entered our very personal lives.

Social media has helped us stay connected with our friends and family. But social media has its cons as well. Social media is also one of the main reasons for depression and anxiety among teenagers and children. It leads to unnecessary feelings of unworthiness among viewers. Another danger posed by social media is the threat of cyberbullying. It has become much easier to post offensive and hurtful comments about other peoples posts and opinions without revealing your identity.

Exessive time spent on social media ruins mindset of children and teens alike. It is an utter waste of time and hinders verbal communication with people.

There are much better ways to stay connected with everyone than chatting online. Spending time by talking with friends and sharing ideas verbally rather than over the phone is a better way to hang out and socialize. Parents must warn their children about the imminent dangers posed by social media and must set a good example for their kids
