Answer:

Explanation:

Flood causes and prevention:

The excess of water in an area which is not used to having so much water or is relatively dry is called flood. Floods cause havoc in many regions of India every year during the monsoon season. However, not much is done to prevent these floods which lead to vast destruction in both rural and urban areas.

There are several events that can lead to a flood.

A few of them are highlighted below:

1. Heavy rain pours.

2. Melting ice and snow.

3. Rising sea levels and the overflowing river.

4. Bad drainage systems.

Governments around the world can reduce the risk of flooding by building a solid drainage system. We as individuals could also help by stopping drainage blockage.

Floods can be scary, but it is in the hands of human beings to ensure it doesn’t impact our daily life. Water storing areas such as ponds, lakes and other water reservoirs should be maintained.

Hope it helps!
