therefore Arun age = 4y

by first condition ,

4y = y -----------(1)

by second condition,

4+4y + 4+y = 58

8 + 5y = 58 -------------(2)

5y = 58-8

5y = 50

y = 50/5

y = 10

therefore son's present age is 10 years

and arun's present age is 4y that is

4×10 = 40 years
