arya has Rs 300 in coins of denominations Rs 1,Rs 2 and Rs5 in her piggy bank the number of Rs 1 coins is 5 times the number of Rs 5 coins the total number of coins 170 how many coins of each denomination are with her

Let x be no of 1 re coins, y for 2  rs coins and z for 5 rs coins.

Then value = x+2y+5z = 300  ... (i)

                       x = 5z ...(ii)

and               x+y+z = 170 ...(iii)

Subtract 2(iii) from (i) to have

-x+3z=-40 ...(iv)

Add (iv) with (ii) to get 3z = 5z-40

z = 20, hence x = 100 and y = 170-x-z = 50

There are 100 coins of 1 re,50 coins of rs2 and 20 coins of Rs.5/-.
