These lines are taken from Marga Minco's short story ' The Address'.
The narrator describes the beautiful Apple designed on those precious pewter plates.
She always wanted to touch those plates which hung on the wall as decorative items.
The narrator acts as daughter of Mr. S and recieves a rude welcome from Mrs. Dorling and her daughter.
