Methane reacts with bromine ,to form

Methyl bromide

CH4+Br2=>CH3Br+HBr

Again,it reacts to form methyl dibromide

CH3Br+Br2=>CH2Br2+HBr

Again,

CH2Br2+HBr=>CHBr3+HBr

Again,

CHBr3+HBr=>CBr4+HBr
