sometimes u don't know everything even as a teacher.
Well you can simply tell the truth. You could say that you don't know the answer but will definitely find out and share it the next day.
I don't think I will malign the teacher's reputation. Just because he/she doesn't know an answer doesn't mean the students would think low of that teacher.
He/she is also a human being.
He/ she is imperfect.
