Given :   a rectangular garden has jogging track of width 30 meters. The length of garden is 46 meters and breadth is 34 meters.

To find :  total length of wire compound.

Solution:

Inner Dimensions :

Length = 46 m

Breadth = 34 m

Outer Dimensions

Length = 46+ 30 + 30

= 106 m

Breadth = 34 + 30 + 30

= 94 m

Total perimeter = 2(34 + 46) + 2(106 + 94)

= 2(80) + 2(200)

= 160 + 400

Total perimeter = 560 m

total length of wire compound. = 560 m

The correct question is,

As shown in figure, a rectangular garden has  jogging track of width 3 meters. The length of  garden is 46 meters and breadth is 34 meters.

Consider the attached figure while going through the following steps.

If we take width of jogging track to be 30 meters, then the calculation won't be possible.

The length of wire compound can be found using the formula of perimeter of a rectangle.

Perimeter of a rectangle, P = 2 ( l + w )

where, l = length of the rectangle

           w = width of the rectangle

= 2 ( 46 + 34) + 2 [ (46 - 3 - 3) + (34 - 3 - 3) ]

= 2 (80) + 2 [ 40 + 28 ]

= 160 + 2 (68)

= 160 + 136

= 296 meters

Option 4 is correct.
