Solve the problem by following

Steps
1. Finding all three sides of given triangle using distance formula.
2. Find area of triangle using Heron's formula.
3. Equate the area to (AD*BC)/2, since this is also area.
4. Find AD since all other terms are numbers

* note: this method works only if AD is perpendicular to BC

or

Steps
1. Find the coordinates of D since its given AD divides BC in 1:2.
2. Find the length of AD using distance formula.
