actually the plants take the energy from the sun ray .....
not the ray itself.

sanya1527: ok so which type of Ray does they use
sanya1527: sorry not Ray it's energy
Prandip: ok wait ill help u....
Prandip: The process of photosynthesis occurs when green plants use the energy of light to convert carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) into carbohydrates. Light energy is absorbed by chlorophyll, a photosynthetic pigment of the plant, while air containing carbon dioxide and oxygen enters the plant through the leaf stomata
Prandip: u see the line light energy
sanya1527: ok so thanks of u
Prandip: wlcm
Anonymous: they use visible, near-infrared and infrared rays, i think because they are avaible in abundance
sanya1527: ok
Anonymous: if you see the intensity—wavelength graph of sun, you will find intensity of sun peaks at visible light and goes to some parts of UV rays also, but its too dim at X-Ray and Gamma Ray wavelength, so there is only one harmful ray, not many

photosynthesis can occur with light up to wavelength 720 nm so long as there is also light at wavelengths below 680 nm to keep Photosystem II operating (see Chlorophyll).
