The molecules of air could not move from one place to another, but we can find a connected between the air and the sound. Sound waves travel through the air molecules and they can pass through the air to reach us. Sound can pass through some media such as water and air. Even sound can also propagate through solid objects, but you can find an additional propagate in this case.
