As we all know that the gender of a baby depends on the chromosome carried by the sperm, why in ancient times ladies were said that they are responsible for a girl child ??

Because the birth is given by only a lady so that's why the lady was responsible for a baby that will it be a boy or a girl ,,they were don't know about chromosome and all

it was just ancient things and stereotypes that all the worst things that would ever happen would be only due to the woman but it was not the truth secondly people were didn't know science too much so they didn't know even the truth
