III 4.2 ASCII Character Set
Ascil is the abbreviated form for "American Standard Code for Information Interchange". It is a 7-bit set of codes that
allows 128 different characters (2' = 128). This amount is enough for every upper-case letter, lower-case letter, digit and
special character used in the English language keyboard. Table 1 shows some examples of letters represented using the
ASCII character set:
