Ashin soaked some seeds in water for 3days but seeds did not germinate. Why.

Well keeping seeds in water will not do it will never germinate rather it will get destroyed.For a plant to germinate their are some conditions u should take care of it.
This are it require soil,it require sunlight,air,mineral it will get from the soil and of coure wate but only water will not do.It will destroy the seed rather to germinate.

When seeds are soaked inside the water, they swell up due to the process of imbibition that takes place. When seeds are soaked in the water for about a day the process of germination is accelerated. This is because water penetrates the seed coat and the embryo inside begins to become plump. When these seeds are then sown the plant grows healthily. But when they are over soaked, the seed swells up more than necessary and it becomes rotten.
