As per question ,

Ashwin walked 10 m north.

then turn 12 m east and again turn 3 m west on the same path,

it means it travelled (12-3)m = 9m east.

And again 5 m south direction.

So, the displacement of the Ashwin from initial position to final position

is,

      = \sqrt{(5)^{2}+(9)^{2}  }

      = \sqrt{25 + 81}

      = \sqrt{106} m

Therefore , the displacement from initial position to final position of Ashwin is \sqrt{106} m.
