Aslam is working in a factory at which people work in shifts (24 hours workers are making bed sheets and pillow covers). Aslam (a poor man ) went to his manager and asked for some financial help as Aslam is a father of six children (a son of 17 years, 2 sons of 14 and 15 years, 3 daughters younger than 13 years) and has to feed eight people (Aslam, Mrs Aslam and their six children). The manager thought about the solution of Aslam’s financial crises as an opportunity for the factory, as there is a shortage of workers in the cotton opener machines and in the night shifts (12 midnight to 8 am). The manager asked Aslam to bring his three sons and wife to work for the cotton opener machines in the night shift. Aslam was very happy that his financial crises would be over as now four family members will be earning.
Aslam thanked his manager saying, “thank you sir, I wish someday I get a chance to pay back for this great favor”. The manager saw another opportunity and told Aslam that instead of eight hours shift he will have to work for ten hours per day for six days at the same salary.
The next day Aslam brought his three sons and wife to the factory to meet the manager. The manager called his assistant and asked him to bring four different stamp papers on which the employment contracts were printed for each new worker. Mrs. Aslam and her sons separately signed the contracts and happily started working the same day. The family is happy now.
One fine day, the manager called Aslam and told him that he will sue Aslam’s youngest son for breaking a precious part of a machine that can only be imported from Germany. The manager also told Aslam that his son is responsible for the loss the factory owner will bear as the import of the broken machine part will take a week and machines will remain out of order (no production, no sale).
