Famous Dress:- Mekhela Chador
The Assamese adorn very simple dresses, and mostly hand loomed. The women wear motif-rich Mekhela Chador or Riha- Mekhela. The men wear 'suria' or 'dhoti', and over it, they drape a chadar known as 'Seleng'.
Famous Dance:- Bihu
Folk dances of Assam include the Bihu and the Bagurumba (both danced during festivals held in the spring), the Bhortal, the Satriya and the Ojapali dance. Assam is home to many groups: Mongoloid, Indo-Burmese, Indo-Iranian, Aryan, Rabha, Bodo, Kachari, Karbi, Mising, Sonowal Kacharis, Mishimi and Tiwa (Lalung).
Famous food:- Typically, a local Assamese meal consists of many things such as bhat (rice) with dal (lentils), masor jool (fish stew), mangxô (meat stew), and stir-fried greens or herbs and vegetables.
