Assertion (A) : In male adults testes are located in scrotum to facilitate sperm formation.

Reason (R) : Sperms mature at a temperature higher than that of human body.

Assertion is true , but reason is wrong.

  • Testes are located in a sac like structure (called scrotum) located outside the body in order to facilitate sperm formation.

  • However , sperm formation is facilitated at a temperature 2°C - 2.5°C lower than the core body temperature.

  • That is one of the reason why the testis is located outside the body so that it can release adequate amount of heat and remain cool which would help in sperm formation.

  • Again , in winter , the scrotum can pull the testis upwards towards the body so that they can take up necessary heat from the body.

\star Hope It Helps.

Answer:

assertion is correct but reason is not correct for given assertion .

  • in males adults testes are located in scrotum to facilitate sperm formation.
  • the process of formation of sperm is known as  Spermatogenesis
  • the cells which are help in sperm formation are known as  spermatogonial stem cells.

→sperm formation process

spermatogonium ⇒ primary spermatocyte ⇒ secondary spermatocyte ⇒ spermatid ⇒spermatozoa

  • reason = Sperms mature at a temperature higher than that of human body.

  • no sperm can not mature at higher  temprture than body. it requires low temprature that why it present in scrotum bag like struture present out sideof body .

  • sperms require 2-2.5 °c less temprature than body temprature
