Assertion is true but Reason is false.

Explanation:

  • Functional unit of kidney is nephron. Nephron consist of glomerulus, bowman's capsule, proximal tubule , loop of Henle, distal convoluted tubule and collecting duct.
  • Glomerulus is is a network of small blood vessels. The glomerulus receive blood through afferent arteriole of the renal artery. the renal artery carry oxygenated blood  from heart into kidney and  thus into glomerulus through afferent arterioles.
  • Glomerulus capillaries filtrate the blood and then after filtration blood enter into efferent arteriole and eventually into renal vein.
  • blood that enter into kidney from renal artery have higher amount of oxygen,  glucose, amino acid, toxin ,salt and water. Whereas the blood leave the kidney through renal vein have lower amount of oxygen, glucose, amino acid, salt, toxin and water.
  • Thin wall of glomerular blood vessel allows the passage of water and small molecules but inhibit larger molecules like protein and blood cells to be filtrate.
  • so the assertion is correct but reason is false and reason is also not the correct explanation of assertion.
