All metal oxides are basic in nature, meaning, they react with acids to carry neutralization reaction to yield salt and water. However, some metallic oxides(5 of them), show both acidic as well as basic properties. These type of metallic oxides are called amphoteric oxides. Some amphoteric oxides are Aluminium oxide, Lead oxide, Zinc oxide, Beryllium oxide, Tin oxide. They react with both bases and acids to form salt and water. Taking this statement into consideration the "Assertion statement" in the question is true. As mentioned initially all metallic oxides are basic in nature. Only the oxides formed by non-metals are acidic in nature, so the "Reason statement" is false. So, option(c) is right one.
