Both assertion and reason are true and reason is the explanation of assertion. (Option A)

• In the summer season, the milk often becomes sour due to the environmental temperature. So,the assertion is completely true.

• Now,this happens because various microorganisms born in the milk during the higher temperatures of the summer season which is suitable for their growth. And these microorganisms produces lactic acid from the milk and the milk becomes sour.

• So,the milk becomes a different chemical substance, and that's why the reasoning is also true.
