Renaissance means rebirth. Here in the question, Edmund Spencer, the poet’s work was a completely different approach to the usual poetic forms.  

He was writing during the English Renaissance time. His literary work brought about the renaissance of poems that he wrote such as “Faerie Queene”, “Epithalamion”.  

He also composed “Prothalamion”, at the time of Renaissance and it is one of the most beautiful short lyrical poems.

He was later followed by many writers like Milton and many romantic poets like Shelly and Keats followed him. He influenced many writers who shared his conviction.
