Answer:

1.b) x+y=15

by squaring both sides

(x+y)^2=(15)^2

x^2+y^2 +2×x×y=225

x^2+y^2+2×50=225

x^2+y^2+100 =225

x^2+y^2 =225-100

x^2+y^2,=125

1.d).by squaring both sides

(2x+3y)^2=(12)^2

(2x)^2+(3y)^2+2×2x×3y=144

(2x)^2+(3y)^2+12xy=144

4x^2+9y^2+12×6=144

4x^2+9y^2+72 =144

4x^2+9y^2=144-72

4x^2+9y^2=72

2.b) by squaring both sides

(x-y)2=(5)2

(x)2+(y)2-2×x×y=25

(x)2+(y)2-2×50=25

(x)2+(y)2-100=25

(x)2+(y)2=25+100

(x)2+(y)2=125

2.d). by squaring both sides

(4x-5y)2=(6)2

(4x)2+(5y)2-2×4x×5y=36

16x2+25y2-40xy=36

16x2+25y2-40×8=36

16x2+25y2-320=36

16x2+25y2=36+320

16x2+25y2=356
