In order to provide the correct answer, one should first have the correct question.

Assume Brown eye colour is dominant to blue eye colour. If a brown eyed man has a blue eyed mother,

What are the possible genotypes of his father?

Let the allele for blue eyes be represented by ‘b’

Let the allele for brown eyes be represented by ‘B’

Since blue eyes is recessive the genotype of the man’s mother must be bb.

Since the man is brown eyed is with a blue eyed mother, his genotype must be Bb. (The recessive allele came from his mother, so the dominant allele must have come from his father.)

Therefore is possible genotypes for his father are BB and Bb.
