Assuming that the two diodes D₁ and D₂ used in the electric circuit shown in the figure are ideal, find out the value of the current flowing through 2.5Ω resistor.

Both the diodes are forward biased, so are equivalent to a closed circuit.

Now, equivalent of the two 3 ohms resistors, which are in parallel, is 3/2 = 1.5 ohms.

This, and the 2.5 ohms in series give a total resistance of 1.5 + 2.5 = 4 ohms.

Finally, the current is 10V/4ohms = 2.5A.
