ANSWER:

Athletics and sports have been a vital part of ABC for years and time immemorial

It is my pleasure to present the Annual Sports Report 2019.

• Keeping up the tradition, this year too, ABC organised its XISPORC state-level inter-school tournaments in basketball, football, and volleyball with the same flamboyant spirit on the 15th of January 2019 and we had around 500 participants from 45 schools across India.  Dr.Eliza Norah, Chairperson, HGI Group of Institutions was the Chief Guest inaugurated the events and distributed the prizes to the winners.

• On 1st March 2019 we organized KPL University Zone IV Handball tournament at our school campus with around 300  Students from 25 Colleges participating in the event .

• On 27th& 28th February the Physical Education Department conducted a2-day Yoga workshop -‘Yoga Today: - Empowering Youth for Tomorrow’ for our Sports club and Fitness club members, where more than 250 club members learnt Yoga

• This year our management had distributed us 30 new cycles for the department of Physical Education for the purpose of cycling events and we have signed the MOU with FIFA, a leading cycle sharing company for sponsoring and being part of our cycling events and competitions.

• This year too we organised our Annual Sports Meet was organised with the same flamboyant spirit amongst students, a venue to exhibit their physical prowess, and gain practical experience of organising sports-meet at the school in the coming years. The Principal of NDA Public School, Chennai graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event started with the flag hoisting by the Chief Guest, oath was taken by the Sports head boy and head girl, march past was carried out by students of different houses, and track and field events were conducted which included many races such as 100mtr, 200mtr, 400mtr and 4×100 mtr relay races for various categories.
