Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of 5 rupee notes be x,then

The number of 10 rupee notes =90−x

Then ,according to the question

5x+10(90−x)=500

5x+900−10x=500

5x=400

x=80

There are 80 notes of Rs.5 and 10 notes of Rs.10.

Answer:

Let the number of notes of Rupees 10 are x

and the number of notes of Rupees 5 are y

•Now x+y=90

so x= 90-y ...... equation 1

•Now 10x+5y=500

{so putting the value of x from first equation}

10(90-y) +5y= 500

900-10y+5y =500

-5y = -400

5y=400

y=80

so the notes of 5 Rupees were 80

and notes of 10 Rupees are 90-80=10
