At 11:00 AM a bus left San Jose travelling to Los Angeles at 48 mph. Four hours later a motorcyclist started moving in the same direction from the same place at 72 mph. At what time the motorcycle will catch up to the bus?

The answer is 11pm.
here the bus and the motorcycle both will cover same distance. So if I think that the motorcycle will catch the bus after running x hours then the equation will be
(x.72)=48(x+4) because the motorcycle start moving after 4 hours.
from the equation the value of x is 8.
so the motorcycle will catch the bus at (11+4+8)=11pm.
