We currently have enough money to buy 10 watermelons, so we split the money in a such a way that we can buy a single water melon and 9 more watermelons, but we don't buy those 9 melons, instead we use that money to buy mangoes, we know that 3 melons cost the same as 7 mangoes, therefore 9 melons cost the same as 21 mangoes. Now we split the money again to buy a single mango and 20 more mangoes. We also know that 2 mangoes cost the same as 3 oranges, so we now use the money we kept for 20 mangoes and buy 30 oranges.
