At a particular time, the shadow of a man of 170cm height is 204cm on the ground.At the same time and on the same ground, the shadow of a pole is 600cm. find the height of the pole.

Height of the man = 170 cm
length of his shadow= 204 cm
height of pole with shadow of 1 cm = 170/204
height of pole with shadow of 600 cm =
170/204 * 600 = 499.99 cm ...

Instead of Teaching us grammar which is of not much benifit to us(i am referring to some of the grammar we learnt in grades 6th, 7th and 8th) i think cbse should emphasize on the basic grammar mostly. I think that they should introduce english is which we actually learn how to speak, write essaysand articles, converse properly, pronounce words properly, know how to use the perfect tense etc.
