at at what temperature does the reduction of lead oxide to lead by carbon become spontaneous ?
PbO + C ------> Pb(s) + CO (g)
for the reaction above ∆H and ∆S at 25°c are 108.4 KJ /mol and 190 J/K Mol respectively.

Answer:
∆H = 108.4kJ/mole
∆S = 190 J/kmol
∆G. = ∆H -- T∆S
at equilibrium.....∆G = 0
∆H =T ∆S
So..T = 108.4 x 1000 / 19
= 570.5 Kelvin
So... above 570.5 k...say 571 k
∆G = -ve and the reaction will become spontaneous..
