at certain monent of time velocities of bodies 1 and 2 are both 1m/s upwards .find the velocity of body 3 at that moment.​

a2+a3+2a1=0

Similarly, we can find

V2+V3+2V1=0

Taking upward direction as positive we are given

V1=V2=1m/s

∴V3=−3m/s

i.e. velocity of block 3is3m/s (downwards)

The velocity of body 3 at that moment is 3 m/sec with downward direction.

Let the velocity of block 3 be v

Now, suppose the velocity of block 3 is in upward direction.

With the help of constraint equations,  we get,

  • T/2 × v + T/2 × v2+ T × v1 = 0
  • v + v2 + 2v1 = 0
  • v + 1 + 2(1) = 0
  • v + 3=0
  • v = -3 m/sec
