Democracy is the dominant form of government in the contemporary world, yet there are still many countries left in the world that do not have democratic form of government. The challenges these countries face to adopt democratic form of government can be stated as:
Foundational challenge: Bringing down the existing non-democratic regime, keeping military away from controlling government and establishing a sovereign and functional state is very difficult.2. Challenge of expansion: Applying the basic principle of democratic government across all the regions, different social   groups and various institutions is very challenging.

3. Deepening of democracy: The deepening of democracy usually means strengthening those institutions that help people’s
participation and control. This requires an attempt to bring down the control and influence of the rich and powerful people in making governmental decision.

There are various forms of governments present in the world and are prevalent all over the globe.

Democracy is one of such forms of government which is a very dominant one but not all the countries in the world have accepted democracy as their form of government.

Democracy is defined as a government for the people by the people and of the people, which means that it derives its power from the people and it shows the people for their benefit and for their well being.

Along with democracy various forms of government like bureaucracy, federalism, communism, etc. are present in the world.
