Answer:

When an object is speeding up, the acceleration is in the same direction as the velocity. Thus, this object has a positive acceleration.for example the object is moving in the negative direction (i.e., has a negative velocity) and is slowing down.

Positive Acceleration:

Acceleration is positive when the force applied to a body is along the distance of the displacement.

Example:

When we are in a slope pushing a heavy car to go down, the car moves along the direction of force applied so it is positive acceleration.

Negative Acceleration:

Acceleration is negative when the force applied to a body is against the distance of the displacement.

Example:

When we are in a slope pushing a heavy car to climb up, the car doesn't moves along the direction of force applied so it is negative acceleration.
