y = 62° [Vertically Opposite Angles]

x + y = 180° [Linear Pair]

x + 62° = 180°

x = 180° - 62°

x = 118°

Now,

x - y = ???

118° - 62° = ???

118° - 62° = 56°

So,

The answer is (a) 56°
