A coalition government is a form of governmentin which political parties cooperate, reducing the dominance of any one party within that "coalition". The usual reason for this arrangement is that no party on its own can achieve a majority in the election

Coalition Governments are formed when no party has Absolute majority in an Assembly. As per the current scenario in Centre, The currently ruling part has more than 300 seats under itself and hence it does not need any Coalition.

But today itself there are many State Assembly( eg: Maharashtra) where no party has got Absolute Majority and Coalition was hence essential for Govt formation.

If we think logically, India is very particular in its choices at least for Centre, which has potential to make any 1 party to win majority.
