we know that 1 hour = 60 minutes. -------------- (2)
On solving (1) and (2), we get
t + t^2/4 - 3 = 60
4t^2 + t^2 - 12 = 60
t^2 + 4t -252 = 0
t + 18t - 14t - 252 = 0
t(t+18) - 14(t+18) = 0
(t+18)(t-14) = 0
t = -18 and t = 14.
Since t cannot be negative.
So the t will be 14.
t = 14.
