At what point does line represented by the equation 8x + 4y = -4 intersects a line which is parallel to the y-axis, and at a distance 3 units from the origin and in the negative direction of x-axis.

the equation of the line parralel to y axis and at a distance 3 units from the origin and in the negative direction of x-axis is x= -3
so the at the point of intersection
8×(-3)+4y=-4
so, y=5
hence, the point of intersection is (-3 , 5)
