At 373 K, water boils.
When we supply heat energy while matter changes it's state, the heat energy is used up to overcome the force of attraction of particles.
This heat is called LATENT HEAT which means hidden heat.
In case of boiling , it is called LATENT HEAT OF VAPORISATION whereas in case of fusion , it is called LATENT HEAT OF FUSION.
