The reason is since electron has -ve charge they are attracted towards the terminal with highest +ve potential and conventionally current direction is taken as opposite to that of electron flow .
And hence if A is at higher potential than B electrons would move towards A and hence the current is said to be from A to B
And hence if A is at higher potential than B electrons would move towards A and hence the current is said to be from A to B
