If a coil is rotated in a magnetic field, a current will be induced in the coil. The strength of this induced current depends upon magnetic flux. Magnetic flux is maximum when the plane of the coil is parallel to the magnetic field. Magnetic flux is minimum when the plane of the coil is perpendicular to the magnetic field. Thus, when a coil rotates in a magnetic field, the induced current in it continuously changes from maximum to minimum value and from minimum to maximum value and so on. The armature is arranged so that it can rotate freely in the magnetic field. When armature turns then due to change in magnetic flux an induced e.m.f is produced....
